Participation in Initiatives
JAC Group has signed up to and participated in national and international initiatives, believing that it is important for various organisations to work together without boundaries in order to solve issues on a global scale. By expressing our contribution through participation in initiatives and promoting efforts to realise a sustainable society, we hope to play an active role as a member of global society.
UN Global Compact
The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is the world's largest sustainability initiative, in which the UN and the private sector (companies and organisations) join hands to build a healthy global society. We have signed the UNGC and were registered as a participating company in April 2024.
JAC Recruitment is also a member of the Global Compact Network Japan (https://www.ungcjn.org/ ), which is made up of Japanese and other companies that have signed the UNGC, and we are committed to realising the UNGC's ten principles on the protection of human rights, the elimination of unfair labour practices, environmental responsibility and anti-corruption.
Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
JAC Recruitment regard climate change as one of our key management risks and in August 2023 we expressed our support for the Financial Stability Board's (FSB) Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). Referring to the TCFD's recommendations, we are (I) establishing a governance structure, (II) identifying and assessing risks and opportunities, (III) Managing risks, (IV) Developing indicators and targets. We will continue to strengthen our efforts and proactively disclose information on climate change in accordance with the TCFD recommendations.
Keidanren Nature Conservation Fund
JAC Recruitment has joined the Keidanren Nature Conservation Council and was registered as a participating company as of 30 September 2023. As part of its sustainability activities, the JAC Group has been implementing a tree-planting programme called the PPP Project since 2008, and by endorsing and participating in the various activities of the Keidanren Nature Conservation Council as a member company, we will make an even greater contribution to the protection of the natural environment and the conservation of biodiversity.
Signed the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs)
JAC Recruitment endorse the aims of the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and have signed a statement committing to act in accordance with their principles. The WEPs are action guidelines for promoting the empowerment of women jointly formulated in March 2010 by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and the United Nations Development Fund for Women (currently UN Women).
Business for Marriage Equality
As a corporation, JAC Recruitment support “Business for Marriage Equality” (BME), which promotes marriage equality (legalisation of same-sex marriage) in Japan. The BME is jointly run by three non-profit organisations: 'Marriage For All Japan', the 'NPO Lawyers Network for LGBT and Allies' and 'Certified NPO Rainbow Diversity', with 512 companies and organisations having expressed their support as of July 2024.
Declaration of Human Rights
JAC Group has released its “My Declaration of Human Rights” vowing to respect human rights to help achieve a society in which everyone shows respect for human rights, in alignment with the aims of the My Declaration of Human Rights project promoted by Japan’s Ministry of Justice.
